My favorite artwork this semester was the identity final artwork because it was fun to brainstorm and make. The artwork i would redo would be the object because i like the way it turned out but the modge podge ruined it and it didnt have the chalky look anymore. One thing i learned this semester is to never give up and how to mix and blend paint colors, colored pencil, and drawing pencil. There isnt anything that i wish we could of done in art, i think we covered a lot.

My artwork is a music album with drawings of things that describe me and things i like to do on it. I created my artwork by thinking of things that i liked and one of them was music and then i just came up with the idea to put a music album with things that i liked on it. The big idea behind my artwork was things that describe/show me and who i am. My goals for my artwork was for it to look neatly done and for me to put my best effort into it. My overall thoughts about my artwork are good, i think it came together really nice and i'm glad i chose to make it like this.
Two studio habits I am planning on using on my artwork are express and observe. I will use express by putting feeling/meaning in my portrait by showing things i like and things that are meaningful to me into it. I will use observe by looking more closely into my artwork to see how well that i am putting my identity into it.
This week I was working on Collage. 2 Studio habits that I used this week were envision and engage & persist. I used envision by looking at my materials and then thinking how I wanted to cut and place them on my paper and then after I envisioned what my artwork would look like I cut and glues everything down. I used engage and persist by focusing on my artwork and pushing myself to get it done even if it wasn't something I was really interested in.
My landscape artwork is a frozen lake with some pine trees in the background and 2 birch trees off to the side. My background is a sunrise along with the pinetrees. I created my artwork by thinking about something I like to do in the winter and that is ice fishing. I first wanted to create a lake scene with fish houses on the lake, as I started drawing it out on my canvas I realized I liked it better with no fish houses so I just kept it as a winter lake scene. My overall thoughts on my artwork is good, I think I did a pretty good job for my artistic ability and I think everything came together good. I did learn from one mistake, I drew and painted my birch trees before doing the sunrise, so when I was painting the sunrise it was really tricky between the tree branches and I painted over some of the tree so I had to re paint the trees after. The last 2 weeks i've been working on my landscape artwork. One studio habbit I've used is invision, I pictured what i wanted my artwork to look like and then i drew it on a canvas and painted it. Another studio habbit I've used is express, my art work is a frozen lake, i chose to draw this because of my love for ice fishing and winter. Painting BootcampIn "Painting Bootcamp" the two studio habits I used were develop and craft and stretch and explore. I used Develop and craft by learning how to use and mix acrylic paints. I explored different types of tints, shades, and intensities. I also learned the color wheel and different types of mixings with warm and cold colors. I used stretch and explore by exploring acrylic paints and mixings, and I also used it by going beyond with things I've never done or used before. Landscape IdeasIn my landscape drawing I plan on drawing a lake in winter with fish houses on it and I plan on adding some trees in for scenery.
Dan Bruggerman's artwork is pieces of the outdoors in Minnesota. He takes a picture of something he finds interesting outside and then draws and/or paints that. My artwork shows man made and natural worlds colliding by having the man made the lighthouse and the natural being lake Suppirior and the sky. I think this place has been enhanced by the changes because the light house adds character to the lake.
The "thinking drawing" is what Wayne Thiebaud calls his sketches. Thinking drawings help him figure out how to make interesting or dynamic compositions. His preparatory sketches help him figure out the backgrounds, balances, colors, and objects he wants to use in his artwork so when he creates his final artwork it looks just how he would like it. In the artwork "Rows of Ties" the tie on the right differs from the rest because it is more spaced out than the rest of the ties and the other ties have straight lines and the tie on the right has curvy lines. I think the artist separates this tie from the others because it sticks out more and it helps create balance in the drawing.
My artwork is a softball with a softball field as a background and also home plate as part 0f the background. The most obvious principal in my artwork is stretch and explore because i tried using mod podge to seal the chalk pastel but then after it dried i ended up not liking it but it was too late to restart so now i know not to do that in the future. I created my artwork by choosing an object to draw, closely observing it and drawing and revising it multiple times in my sketchbook. Once i knew what i wanted to do i started drawing mt object on final draft paper and got some new ideas along the way like adding a dirt field and grass as the background. The big idea behind my artwork is how i felt about this object. i play and enjoy softball so i thought i would somehow try to create an artwork that shows something about the game softball and i thought it would be cool to have home plate behind a softball and then i adventually got the idea to add a softball field in for the background. Some goals i had for this artwork was just to try my best and come up with something that i liked. i did achieve this goal somewhat, i liked my drawing but after adding mod podge i didn't really like the result so i definitely learned something from this artwork. My thoughts of my overall artwork are pretty good, the only thing i would change about it is adding the mod podge at the end and i would maybe chose something other than chalk pastels if i did this again because it didnt fill in the black how i would of liked it too and it was super messy.
